ABOUT

Classical roots.
A voice of my own.

I am Orlin Tsvetanov, a violinist, composer and sound designer. In music, I seek the depth of the classical tradition and the freedom to discover new forms of expression.

My performing career spans stages and genres: classical, jazz, flamenco, tango and pop. I bring that experience and my own interpretation to every encounter with an audience.

Read my biography

Music has been part of my life since childhood: I grew up in a family of musicians. I studied at the Lyubomir Pipkov National School of Music and the Prof. Pancho Vladigerov National Academy of Music, in Prof. Angel Stankov's violin class. In 2003, I specialised in Baroque music in Germany with Prof. Anne Schumann.

I have performed as a violinist with Lili Ivanova since 2005. From 2012 to 2025, I was a member of the Sofia Soloists Chamber Ensemble. As a soloist and chamber musician, I have performed in Japan, China, France, Germany, Austria, Spain and other countries.

My projects include Sonata Duo with pianist Marin Gonev, Classical Meets Jazz with my sister Zornitsa Tsvetanova, and Tango Cats with Mladen Taskov, established in 2017. Zornitsa and I released our album Dream of OZ in 2016. I am also one of the founders of Bingo Symphony Orchestra.

I was a prizewinner at the International French Music Competition in Plovdiv in 1999. I have appeared at Varna Summer, Apollonia, the Bansko International Jazz Festival and Jazz Fest Pamporovo. In 2018, I gave masterclasses in China.

My professional experience includes work with the New Symphony Orchestra, Sinfonietta Sofia and the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra in Pernik. I have performed with musicians including Zhivko Petrov, Stoyan Yankoulov, Mihail Yosifov, Veselin Veselinov-Eko and Zhivko Vasilev.
